Anniversary of the Gernika Agreement Endorsed by the Association of Basque Political Prisoners

The Association of Basque Political Prisoners (EPPK in Basque) has officially endorsed the Gernika agreement. On the event celebrating the first anniversary held in Gernika last Sunday, twenty-seven former Basque political prisoners took the stage on behalf of the association and read the statement issued on Saturday.
In the statement the EPPK highlights their intention to become an active part in the resolution process. The statement stresses the importance of the Gernika agreement for the resolution of the political and armed conflict.

The statement also notes that the agreement includes the association’s claims, repatriation of Basque political prisoners to Euskal Herria and the end of the extreme measures applied against them as a first step toward amnesty. In front of the states’ prison policy the association makes clear that they will not accept individual benefits or solutions, offered by a prison system designed to destroy their political and human identity.

A pesar de la represión que persiste, a pesar de nuestros más de 700 presos y presas, y de la injusticia de la dispersión, los deportados, los refugiados,  Euskal Herria sigue marchando, ahora por la vía política, hacia la posibilidad, cada vez más cercana, de lograr la Independencia por la que tanto lucharon miles y miles de vascos y vascas. 

Ahora, después del éxito resonante obtenido con los cientos de miles de votos obtenidos por la coalición electoral BILDU, ha llegado la hora de seguir sumando voluntades y a través de la nueva alianza electoral denominada AMAIUR, ir a través de muchos más votos, hacia el Parlamento de los invasores de nuestro territorio, para hacer oir la voz y el reclamo del derecho de autodeterminación para el pueblo vasco.

Gogorra da gero ontzigintzan eta langile klasearen aldeko protesten eredu den Euskaldunara egunotan Alvaro Uribe etorri izana. «Teknologia berriak arlo publikoan» izeneko jardunaldietan hartuko du hitza, nahiz eta Kolonbiako presidente zela, ezer gutxi utzi zuen pribatizatu gabe, errepresioa eta sufrimendua denentzat adina izan bazuen ere. Hodi komunetan dauden milaka gorpuren DNA identifikazio probak egitea debekatzen zuen berberak teknologia berriak izango ditu hizpide.
